Biography

Michael Connor was born in the English spa town of Bath, and grew up in South London and the Cotswolds. He is hotel-school trained and a licenced croupier. Spending lengthy periods in Africa (including Zimbabwe and Sierra Leone), China, Greece, the former Republic of Yugoslavia, the Caribbean and the UK in the hospitality and casino industries. At the age of 50, he retired from this world for a new career in writing.

A life in exotic locations has provided an extraordinary range of material for the plots he now creates in fiction - The Mushroom Effect, The Cleansing, May All Your Names Be Forgotten, and explores in fact with The Soho Don

As a freelance journalist he has had features published in numerous glossy magazine food & travel sections, and has researched crime issues for the tabloid press. He is currently completing a screenplay set in 1950's London.

Michael Connor is a member of ENGLISH PEN which promotes free speech, human rights and a greater understanding through literature, and he is accredited with The International Travel Writers Alliance.

He is married, lives in Kent - the Garden of England - and when not writing or reading, he spend time cooking, swimming and walking the dog. Whenever the opportunity arises he escapes with his family to Greece and Africa.
